Replacing windows in your Fairfield County and New Jersey house
Replacing windows can be a daunting task, especially if you are replacing several of them at once. Fortunately, there is a lot of information out there to guide you along the way.  It might be wise to do a little research and take a few things into consideration.  There are certain things to keep in mind when shopping for new window replacements for your Fairfield County, CT and Northern New Jersey home.  Some of them might seem quite obvious, while others might surprise you a bit.  Take a look at these five things to keep in mind as you get started.

Type of Material

There are different types of materials used to make windows; including vinyl, wood, and composite.  When choosing, consider things like cost and what materials will look best with your home, both inside and out.  Also, consider things like how well the window style fits into the current frame. The intense weather is of course another factor to consider when yo live in the Fairfield County, CT and Northern New Jersey area.

Window Size

When choosing a window replacement, don't forget about the size and shape of your current windows.  Obviously, replacing windows with ones that are a different shape or that are larger than the original windows will be more difficult than choosing new windows similar in size and shape.

Frame Security

It is most definitely important when replacing windows to check the window frames.  This is easiest to do after the old window has been removed from the frame.  Before the new window can be inserted into the frame, the frame must be checked for any rotten wood or places it may be lacking in support.  If there are any such areas found, they must be fixed before the new window can be installed.

Cost

It might seem a bit obvious, but one very important thing to keep in mind as you're replacing windows is the total cost of the project. This will help you make a better, more informed decision about what kind of window style you choose to have installed.

Who's Installing Them

When considering the total cost of the window replacement project, not only do you need to consider the cost of the windows that are being installed but also how much the contractor is going to charge to install them.  Unless, of course, you are savvy enough to know how to do it yourself.  It might be wise to get multiple quotes from several different places. Always go with an experienced contractor like Prime Home Improvement to avoid any trouble down the road.

We would like to take this opportunity to " THANK YOU" for doing an excellent job on my mothers roof in White Plains, NY.  Five years ago your company proved themselves when you installed a new roof, windows, door and siding. I will say I was a little nervous about giving this job to a Westchester company. Our summer house is in Fairfield, CT, we worried that your crew would have problems traveling one hour to the job and one hour back; however this was never an issue.
Your crew was excellent on both houses and the little extras that we needed where never a problem. The siding is still holding the color and the house looks as good as the day it was finished. We would highly recommend Prime Home Improvements for ANY job a home owner may need.

A million thanks for a job well done. I wish I had the dollars to express my appreciation for the job your team did on my roof, the manner in which your team presented and planned the new roof, not to mention the cost was truly a blessing. Stay well.

I was pleasantly surprised by the rapid response and attention given to our small job. My past experience with repair companies was if the job was small you would be ignored for weeks. Prime Home Improvements immediately gave as an appointment; unfortunately nothing could be done because of the rain. The following day they showed up very early and took advantage of the dry morning to do the job. They worked quickly and well . The proof was that very later in the afternoon we had a terrible storm and roof has not leaked again.
